Working out of the Vancouver office you will oversee the North American operations, with tours ranging from the Rockies to Alaska and across the States. You will be responsible for continually improving operational processes, relationships with partners and team members; ensuring exceptional service throughout the tours.

  • Develop and implement strategic remuneration and recognition program for their ground delivery staff
  • Leverage existing relationships and opportunities to improve delivery of their programs
  • Contracting of suppliers for transportation requirements, attractions and other required tour components; compliance with SOP’s and delivery terms of contracts
  • Monitor and actively participate in Tour Director briefings/reports and guest satisfaction ratings for feedback to continually drive improvements


  • Sets budgets to efficiently manage resources and expenditure within the budget requirements
  • Ensures departmental budgets are met as a minimum requirement
  • Manage payroll system for Canada and USA in line with regulatory and employment standards


  • Communicates expectations, roles and responsibilities to team members in a way which encourages individual/teams to take responsibility for their work
  • Schedule and assign work schedules for office support staff including Tour Directors, Meet & Greet, Customer Service representatives
  • Encourages, values and rewards the efforts and contributions of individuals/teams
  • Provides mentoring and coaching support to individuals/team to enhance knowledge and skills
  • Provides regular feedback on performance
  • Undertakes annual performance reviews with staff
  • Ensures department goals and targets are met professionally
  • Ensures ongoing training is offered allowing continued staff development


  • Establishes long term relationship and sustaining credibility with senior management and staff
  • Displays perseverance and initiative in achieving business goals and objectives
  • Leads by example and displays leadership qualities
  • Establishes and maintains profitable working relationships


  • Previous experience as General Manager of Operations or equal position; ideally within a premium travel organization
  • Professionally regarded and well presented
  • Self-motivated, uses initiative and is a lateral thinker
  • Customer and service focused
  • High level of accuracy while being efficient
  • Proven high level of written and verbal communication skills
  • Developed organization and planning skills
  • Computer knowledge (MS Office and Internet)
  • High attention to detail
