We seek an Assistant Manager for a high-volume casual family dining concept for a well-branded organization with locations across the country. The ideal candidate is a natural leader who thrives in a busy environment, enjoys day-to-day operations, and demonstrates an entrepreneurial spirit both “on the floor” and in the community. The Assistant Manager will play a key role in supporting all aspects of the business, including cost controls, labour management, guest experience, and team leadership. The successful candidate will have proven success in high-volume operations, a strong ability to drive sales, and a passion for providing exceptional guest experiences. Description

  • Achieve the highest service standards and exceed guest expectations daily.

  • Support FOH and BOH management teams in achieving human resources objectives, including recruiting, orienting, scheduling, and performance reviews.

  • Effectively enforce company policies and procedures.

  • Help achieve operational objectives by implementing action plans and upholding productivity, quality, and service standards.

  • Work closely with the management team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

  • Address guest concerns through effective service recovery and proactively implement improvements.

  • Collaborate with the BOH team to monitor costs, including portion control, preparation quantities, and waste minimization.

  • Assist in estimating food and beverage consumption, placing orders with suppliers, and ensuring inventory accuracy.

  • Support the maintenance of budgets, payroll preparation, and monitoring of employee records.

  • Arrange for maintenance and repair of equipment as required.

  • Develop and coach team members by providing training, performance evaluations, and ongoing mentorship.

  • Foster a positive, engaging, and energetic team environment.

  • Support growth and restaurant sales through marketing and community engagement initiatives.

  • Regularly conduct financial reviews, including P&L analysis, to ensure operational profitability.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of progressive restaurant experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or Assistant Manager role.

  • Comprehensive understanding of all restaurant positions and the functional operations of high-volume, full-service restaurants.

  • Strong leadership skills with a passion for team development, mentoring, and success.

  • Ability to manage financial parameters, control costs, and consistently achieve financial goals.

  • Proficiency in analyzing and reporting financial data within deadlines.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a professional, energetic, and adaptable demeanor.

  • Proven success in conflict resolution, both with employees and guests.

  • A strong entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to contribute to business growth.

  • Previous experience with chain or franchise restaurant operations is considered an asset.
